The “ATB” designation refers to the America the Beautiful Quarters program, a widely collected series celebrated for its theme-based reverse designs highlighting iconic national sites and landmarks. The 2013 Peace Memorial quarter is particularly sought after due to its role within the ATB story and its focus on remembrance and national heritage.
What sets this example apart is the grading detail: NGC PF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. Proof coins graded at the highest tiers are distinguished by razor-sharp striking, deep reflective fields, and intense contrast between frosted devices and mirrorsmooth surfaces. The Ultra Cameo designation indicates a standout cameo effect, making this coin a visually striking addition to any proof collection.
Encapsulated and backed by third-party authentication, this Peace Memorial limited edition set quarter offers collectors a blend of confidence and prestige. Whether you are assembling the complete America the Beautiful series, specializing in proof silver issues, or building a themed collection honoring memorials and national remembrance, this piece delivers both historical resonance and top-tier presentation.
The Peace Memorial theme within the America the Beautiful Quarters program draws attention to remembrance and the enduring significance of peace in American history. The reverse design is crafted to be both visually engaging and meaningful—an approach that characterizes the ATB series as a whole, which is known for distinct, site-inspired artistry and a consistent, collector-friendly format.
As a proof issue, the quarter is struck specifically for collectors, with polished planchets and carefully controlled minting conditions intended to create dramatic reflective surfaces. On a high-grade coin like PF-69 Ultra Cameo, the frosted elements are expected to “pop” against the mirror-like background—an effect that enhances the design’s depth and clarity.
In the world of modern U.S. proofs, the difference between an attractive proof and a true standout often comes down to grading. PF-69 represents near-perfect proof surfaces, where visual issues such as minor marks, contact, or imperfections are extremely limited. The ULTRA CAMEO designation further indicates exceptionally strong cameo contrast, giving the coin a crisp, high-relief look when viewed under the right lighting.
For many collectors, an Ultra Cameo proof is the “sweet spot” of modern proof collecting—offering both aesthetic impact and strong market appeal. Whether displayed, stored in a collection, or used to complete set milestones, this level of certification is a key value driver.
The America the Beautiful Quarters program is one of the most popular modern series in U.S. coin collecting. Introduced to feature designs that celebrate national parks and other significant landmarks, the program has expanded collector interest by offering a wide range of themes and visually distinct reverse designs across multiple years and mint marks.
Within this framework, the 2013 issues—including the Peace Memorial themed quarter—help define the mid-era identity of the series.
